Cincinnati, Ohio. Contentra Inc., one of the most trusted and respected companies in the business of editorial and project support for K–12 education publishers, welcomes Dave Bailis as our new Chief Operating Officer.
With more than 25 years in the education sector, Bailis has helped create and deliver learning solutions that span K–12 and higher education. He has managed large-scale content development efforts, guided cross-functional teams, and improved operations for leading organizations, including LearningMate, Westchester Education Services, Straive, National Geographic Learning, and Pearson Education. His work has supported major initiatives in mathematics, science, and STEM, blending innovative instructional design with streamlined production processes to meet the evolving needs of educational publishers and learners alike. A strong advocate for the role of technology in education, Bailis is particularly interested in how artificial intelligence can be used to increase efficiency, support creativity, and improve the learning experience.
“Teaching taught me that people are at the heart of every success,” Bailis says. “Whether it is developing a program, refining a process, or managing a team, I focus on building trust, fostering collaboration, and keeping quality at the center. I am also excited about the ways artificial intelligence can help us work smarter, enhance creativity, and bring even more value to our clients. Combining people-first leadership with innovative tools is how we will achieve the best results at Contentra.”
“Dave’s deep understanding of both the creative and operational sides of educational content development makes him an exceptional leader for our North American operations,” said Bill Faber, CEO of Contentra Inc. “He has the vision, experience, and team-first mindset to help us grow while maintaining the quality and reliability our clients expect.”
Before joining Contentra, Bailis played a pivotal role in expanding LearningMate’s Learning Design Group, where he directed teams delivering complex digital and print programs for major educational publishers. At Westchester Education Services, he strengthened operational systems, managed multimillion-dollar project portfolios, and ensured on-time delivery across a diverse mix of client initiatives. These experiences have honed his ability to align strategy, resources, and execution to achieve measurable results.
In his new role, Bailis will help to oversee Contentra’s North American operations, focusing on efficiency, strategic growth, and strong, lasting client relationships.
